Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Aquaman. Produced by DC Studios, the Safran Company, and Warner Bros., the film stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius/Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Matteen II as David Kane/Black Manta, Jani Zhao as Stingray, Indya Moore as Karshon, Vincent Regan as Atlan, and Pilou Asbæk in an unknown role.
The sequel to 2018’s Aquaman is set to continue the story of Arthur Curry/Aquaman and his quest to protect the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. The movie is directed by James Wan and written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The film is set to feature Arthur Curry and Mera teaming up with Aquaman’s half-brother, Orm, and his villainous allies, Black Manta, Stingray, Karshon, and Atlan.
The movie is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2023, but we expect this date to be pushed back into 2024, with filming set to start in fall 2022. In the meantime, fans can look forward to a few teasers and concept art that director James Wan has dropped on social media. These teasers hint at a globe-trotting story with plenty of fantasy and magic.
