Poker Face: An Exciting New Mystery-of-the-Week Series from Rian Johnson
Rian Johnson, the Academy Award-nominated filmmaker behind Knives Out and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is bringing his unique brand of whodunnit to the small screen with his new television series, Poker Face. Starring Natasha Lyonne as the lead, this 10-episode mystery-of-the-week series will be available to stream on PeacockTV beginning January 26, 2023.
The teaser trailer for Poker Face gives a glimpse of the thrilling mix of humour and suspense it promises. It follows Charlie, a casino employee with an extraordinary ability to sense dishonesty, who is forced to go on the run when her ability gets her into deep trouble. During her journey, she uses her powers for good, helping strangers solve cases along the way.
The cast of Poker Face includes a star-studded lineup of guest actors, including Ron Perlman, Benjamin Bratt, Adrien Brody, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Cherry Jones, David Castañeda, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Lil Rel Howery, Nick Nolte, and Stephanie Hsu.
Rian Johnson is the creator, writer, and director of Poker Face and serves as an executive producer along with Ram Bergman, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, Nene Rodrigue, Iain B. Macdonald, Danielle Renfrew Behrens, and Maya Rudolph. Natasha Lyonne is also an executive producer and will be directing one of the episodes.
The mystery genre is already brimming with classic titles, but Poker Face looks set to breathe new life into the genre with its modern take on retro mystery television. Get ready to solve a new puzzle each week with Poker Face, premiering January 26, 2023 on Peacock.
