Samuel L. Jackson Returns As Nick Fury In Marvel’s ‘Secret Invasion’ Trailer
Marvel Studios has released the official trailer for “Secret Invasion”, the upcoming Disney+ series that will see Samuel L. Jackson reprise his role as Nick Fury. The trailer, which was revealed at Disney’s D23 Expo, presents a first look at the series’ dark tone and a glimpse of the shapeshifting Skrulls’ infiltration of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The series follows Fury after the events of “Captain Marvel”, where he opted to stay in space. Upon his return, he finds himself in the middle of a “war”, as he is the last one standing between the Skrulls and what they really want. Along with Jackson, “Secret Invasion” stars Cobie Smulders, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Lil Rel Howery, Nick Nolte, and Stephanie Hsu.
“Secret Invasion” is based on Marvel’s 2008 comic book crossover of the same name, which was written by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales, and Laura Martin. The crossover event saw the Avengers destabilized by the Skrulls’ shapeshifting infiltration, taking the identities of characters like Hawkeye and Spider-Woman.
The series is set to begin streaming on Disney+ in 2023. Watch the trailer above and be sure to tune in when “Secret Invasion” premieres later this year.
