HBO Releases First Look at True Detective: Night Country, Starring Jodie Foster and Barry Jenkins
HBO has released its first look at the upcoming fourth season of its Emmy-winning crime drama, True Detective: Night Country. Starring two-time Academy Award-winner Jodie Foster in her first television series lead role, True Detective: Night Country follows two detectives investigating the disappearance of several men in a small town in Alaska.
True Detective: Night Country is written and executive produced by Barry Jenkins and Issa Lopez, with Jenkins also directing and Lopez showrunning. The series stars Foster as one of two detectives investigating the mysterious disappearance of several men in the small town of Ennis, Alaska. Joining Foster in the cast are John Hawkes, Kali Reis, Aka Niviâna, Isabella Star Lablanc, Joel D. Montgrand, Christopher Eccleston, Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, and Anna Lambe.
Production for True Detective: Night Country is currently underway in Iceland and the series is set to premiere sometime in 2023, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
The series will explore the secrets that lie buried under the eternal ice, with the detectives facing the darkness they carry within themselves in order to solve the case. The series promises to be a thrilling ride, with the all-star cast and the lush Alaskan locations sure to make for a captivating viewing experience.
