Dominique Thorne to Lead Marvel’s Upcoming ‘Ironheart’ Series
Dominique Thorne is set to lead Marvel’s upcoming series Ironheart, which will be released on Disney+ later this year. Thorne is set to portray Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.
The series is based on the Marvel Comics character created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr., and follows Williams, a 15-year-old MIT graduate who builds her own Iron Man-like suit to fight crime. The series will also feature Marvel Comics character War Machine, who is set to be portrayed by Don Cheadle.
Ironheart is being written by writer and executive producer Jada Rodriguez and executive producer and showrunner LaToya Morgan. Other executive producers include Bendis, Deodato Jr., and Zoe Kent.

In addition to Thorne and Cheadle, Ironheart will feature an all-star cast of actors, including Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, In the Heights), Lyric Ross (This Is Us), Manny Montana (Graceland), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Zoe Terakes (Nine Perfect Strangers), Shakira Barrera (GLOW), Jim Rash (Captain America: Civil War), Shea Couleé (Ru Paul’s Drag Race), Regan Aliyah, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola, Sonia Denis, Paul Calderón, and Cree Summer.
