The Last of Us: Cancelled DLC and What it Would Have Entailed
The developers of The Last of Us Part II had originally planned to release DLC that would have focused on Ellie’s mother’s story. The DLC would have been a prequel to the main game and would have followed Ellie’s mother’s journey from the initial outbreak to her eventual death.
The DLC would have explored the quarantine zone where Ellie’s mother lived, and the experiments that were conducted on her. Players would have been able to learn more about the world of The Last of Us and the characters that inhabit it, including Ellie’s mother and father.
Additionally, it would have allowed players to control Ellie’s mother and experience the events leading up to Ellie’s birth from her perspective. This would have provided a deeper understanding of the characters and the world, and added an emotional depth to the game.
Unfortunately, it was cancelled, leaving many players disappointed and wanting more.
